BJ Walks America!
Today, a crowd of cheering supporters welcomed native New Yorker BJ Timoner as he arrived at The Lustgarten Foundation’s headquarters to take the final step of his nearly 3,000 mile, second cross-country trek to fight pancreatic cancer. Nearly six months after departing Santa Monica, Calif., BJ has walked through 13 states, and raised more than $50,000 for pancreatic cancer research. Due to Cablevision’s support of the Foundation, 100% of every dollar he raised goes directly to research.
We cannot thank BJ enough for his inspiring effort and his extraordinary dedication and determination to this important cause. BJ’s father passed away from pancreatic cancer when BJ was only five years old. BJ decided to take a stand against pancreatic cancer in honor of his father by walking coast to coast to raise money and to increase awareness of this deadly disease as well as the Foundation’s efforts to find a cure.
It is because of individuals like BJ that we’re able to spread the word about the importance of research and the need for increased funding to beat pancreatic cancer, the nation’s most lethal cancer. We hope you will join BJ, The Lustgarten Foundation and Cablevision in this fight.
