Our 62-year old otherwise healthy and active father/husband Jay was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on June 17th, 2009. After some rapid weight loss, jaundice and low energy, he went to the ER where a cancerous mass was found on his pancreas. On June 25th, Jay had bypass surgery, and he is now undergoing his second round of chemotherapy. Jay is determined to beat the odds.
Part of beating these odds is helping to fund efforts to improve them: The Lustgarten Foundation, the nation’s largest private supporter of research for pancreatic cancer, has organized a fundraising walk this weekend in my hometown. 100% of every dollar donated to the Foundation goes directly to critically needed pancreatic cancer research.
Thanks so much for your support,
Janice & Emily, on behalf of the Gallaghers
