Brianne and Tom's Wedding Celebration

On February 16, 2009, my life changed forever. My mom passed away after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer for just two weeks. Searching “pancreatic cancer miracle stories” left me with very few results. Why?  It’s the most lethal cancer there is. 74% of patients die within the first year of diagnosis and 94% will die within five years of diagnosis. These statistics are frightening. Thanks to Cablevision’s support of The Lustgarten Foundation, 100% of your donations go directly to pancreatic cancer research.

My mom was an incredible woman. She was a master teacher, a fabulous musician, and a true leader. She was a great listener yet also gave the wisest advice. The way she approached motherhood was admirable.  Our relationship was absolutely beautiful and we often reminded one another of that. I am proud to be Betsy’s daughter and honored to be her legacy.

Although Tom never got a chance to meet my mom, I make sure to keep her as present as possible in my life. I am certain that they would adore one another.  In fact, as Tom and I approach our wedding day, I find such peace in knowing that.  We thank you for your donation and are so very grateful for whatever you are able to give.
