Web Developer

Lustgarten Foundation is seeking an early-career Web Developer to oversee the day-to-day website operations and manage relationships with vendors.

The Web Developer is responsible for managing and performing development, implementation and maintenance of the infrastructure, hardware, and software utilized for the organization’s website. This includes monitoring web traffic performance and to identify, prevent and resolve issues.

The Web Developer coordinates with stakeholders to ensure that the site provides content and functionality that meet the business needs of the organization, maintains appropriate security, and troubleshoots any issues.

A deep understanding and use of web analytics is required. Candidate will work with design and content teams to ensure SEO-friendly website

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficient in HTML, responsive CSS and open standards in web technologies
  • Proficient in WordPress, HTML email templates, JavaScript, Microsoft suite and Adobe suite
  • Ability to develop custom plugins, templates and modules for WordPress
  • Strong background in modern WordPress security practices, privacy practices, advanced knowledge of web hosting/server management and database/SQL experience/li>
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to write clear, concise documentation, reports, and specifications
  • Ability to coordinate multiple, simultaneous priorities
  • Ability to execute projects to meet established deadlines
  • Excellent coordination and organization skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team, be self-motivated and task-oriented, and exercise initiative

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates the maintenance, efficiency, and functionality of website architecture
  • Administers and manages all domains
  • Maintains the site to ensure repair and enforcement of broken links, misspellings, accessibility, issues, and content policies
  • Provides “real time” resolution of “bugs” and user problems based on user requests/ reports and communicates the resolution to impacted parties
  • Monitors, assesses, and reports on website analytics
  • Works with consultant on SEO audits to increase organic search engine results, monitor SEO rankings to enhance and alter SEO strategy; and utilize SEO tools and services to provide reports and trends
  • Works with content contributors to develop keywords that upon which website content should be focused
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Creates and maintains marketing automation
  • Maintains and creates email templates as needed

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Three years website administration, maintenance, and multi-site management, and user experience management
  • Experience maintaining mobile-friendly websites
  • Digital web portfolio and code examples

Raiser’s Edge Coordinator

Lustgarten Foundation is seeking a Raiser’s Edge Coordinator to join the Fundraising Operations team.  The Raiser’s Edge Coordinator is responsible for maintaining all data, processing gifts and performing data clean up projects for Lustgarten’ s database containing over 500,000 records.  Candidate will also work with Classy, O-Matic and other integrated software.

Primary Functions:

  • Maintain and update information on constituent record
  • Process gifts, pledges and other donations on a timely basis
  • Optimize database for fundraising mailing efforts, including merging; proofing; printing; and preparing donor acknowledgement
  • Work with Database Administrator on reconciling gifts for audits
  • Proficient with data manipulation, importing/exporting
  • Run Raiser’s Edge reports (financial, analytical, etc.)
  • Adhere to operating procedures for data entry
  • Perform data clean-up projects and other necessary tasks to ensure integrity of the database
  • Manage matching gift submissions and payments

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Three years of experience using Raiser’s Edge
  • Experience with import/export. Omatic and Classy experience a plus
  • Possess exceptional attention to detail to ensure integrity of database
  • Ability to organize projects and tasks efficiently, meet deadlines and perform an array of duties in a fluid environment, both independently and as a team player
  • Excellent computer skills and advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, particularly Microsoft Excel, and a demonstrated ability to perform mail-merge functions

Prospect Research Associate

The Prospect Research Associate will be responsible for proactive donor and prospect research efforts to aid increased national funding. The Prospect Research Associate plays a key role in the execution of donor engagement strategy by providing information integral to the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donors and prospects.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify the type of information to look for and determine what relevant donor information (biographical, financial, philanthropic interest, history of previous donations, prior Foundation solicitations, etc.) is needed to craft fundraising and cultivation strategies
  • Provide high-level research on individuals, corporations, foundations and organizations using a variety of electronic and print resources and tools including such programs as Donor Search, the Foundation Database and other
  • Provide professional-level briefings for the Development staff and Lustgarten Foundation executives, as well as volunteer leadership and members of the Boards of Directors
  • Assist the Development Team in the creation and application of wealth and affinity scoring of individual, corporate and foundation prospect
  • Manage third-party relationships with vendors that provide data services and research tools
  •  Compose, write, edit, and proofread briefing materials including, but not limited to, donor research profiles or reports, and other basic research reports. Ensure accuracy and completeness of reports and other documents
  • Monitor market trends and media sources for relevant information on current donors
  • Work on special projects and assist with donor cultivation events and occasional special events as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as internet-based communications and research tools such as Donor Search, Google and others
  • Proficiency in Raiser’s Edge a plus
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of prospect research
  • Excellent writing and interpersonal skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to work with multiple deadlines under minimal supervision
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree and 1-2 years of related experience

Chief Financial Officer

The chief financial officer (CFO) will set financial policy and direction and lead financial administration, business planning, and budgeting. The CFO is responsible for monitoring compliance with financial policies and procedures and providing strategic recommendations based on financial analysis and projections. As a member of the senior leadership team, the CFO will work closely with the audit and investment committees of the board of directors.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee long-term budgetary planning and cost management. Prepare annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Monitor activity of investment assets and oversee investment managers. Forecast cash requirements and coordinate funding for grant disbursement periods.
  • Engage the board audit and investment committee around pertinent financial issues, trends, and changes affecting the organization
  • Ensure that finance staff maintains financial record systems in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and monitor the use of all funds
  • Oversee the preparation and approval of all financial reporting materials and metrics for leadership and communicate monthly and annual financial statements
  • Coordinate all audit and 990 activities
  • Analyze complex research grant award terms and various contribution types, including bequests and stock transfers to ensure they are recorded in accordance with GAAP
  • Ensure internal control procedures safeguard cash receipts, including overseeing remote capture deposit system, event-related cash collections, etc., and ensure appropriate controls over cash disbursements and other processes including fund raising activities
  • Supervise the reconciliation of all cash, credit card and wire transfer activity
  • Engage the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Philanthropic Officer to align financial management with short- and long-term financial planning and projections
  • Monitor expenses and provide financial insight to control costs
  • Prepare and support board of director presentations as needed

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • A minimum of a BS and CPA/CMA; MBA a plus
  • At least ten years’ experience in a financial management role
  • Experience/knowledge of not for profit accounting
  • Demonstrated excellence in managing finance, accounting, budgeting, control, and reporting
  • Strong analytical skills and experience interpreting a strategic vision into an operational model
  • An effective communicator, with strong oral and written skills
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree and CPA/CMA; MBA a plus and 10 years of related experience
