The Lustgarten Foundation is America’s largest private foundation dedicated to funding pancreatic cancer research. Based in Long Island, New York, the Foundation supports research to find a cure for pancreatic cancer, facilitates dialogue within the medical and scientific community, and educates the public about the disease through awareness campaigns and fundraising events. Since its inception, the Foundation has directed more than $120 million to research and assembled the best scientific minds with the hope that one day, a cure can be found.

Position Description:

Responsible for the website and other logistics related to the Foundation’s Pancreatic Cancer Research Walk Series and community events.  Involved in the strategic planning and development of new fundraising online products.  Process donations and data entry in Raisers Edge.  The Fundraising Operations Coordinator will report to the Director of Fundraising Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage website and other logistics related to 30 – 40 annual Pancreatic Cancer Research Walks
    • Design print material for Pancreatic Cancer Research Walk series such as posters, save the date cards, brochures and t-shirts
    • Create Pancreatic Cancer Research Walk fundraising websites using Sphere
    • Track and upload all sponsor logos to walk websites
    • Support our walk participants with registration and personalized walk websites
    • Prepare registration lists, solicitor reports and team reports
    • Create communications for Pancreatic Cancer Research Walk series including creating and managing a time line for walk emails, manipulating the data to develop the email lists, and creating new email templates
  • Manage Website and Operations Related to Community Events
    • Create community event fundraising pages
    • Create donation pages for different campaigns
    • Update website content
    • Prepare mass emails and email lists to communicate with constituents and create and manage a timeline for dissemination of emails to constituents
  • Related Activities in Raiser’s Edge/Sphere
    • Manage data entry for online donations
    • Process credit card donations/refunds
    • Process donor thank you and acknowledgment letters
    • Process donations collected at events


  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel, and a demonstrated ability to perform mail-merge functions
  • Proficient in Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Experience with Blackbaud products (including Raiser’s Edge, Net Community and Sphere) preferred
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage and take ownership of multiple projects and exercise independent action – What do you mean by “exercise independent action?”
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a team environment
  • Detail-oriented and committed to database accuracy and integrity
