Committed to a Cure

My husband Ron was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2004 and passed away a year later. He was the epitome of health, so we were stunned when he received a pancreatic cancer diagnosis. We were devastated to learn the statistics of the disease during his treatment, but we remained optimistic. My daughter reached out to the Lustgarten Foundation for additional information and we attended the Lustgarten Walk – Long Island in 2006. We knew that we wanted to start our own walk to raise awareness in our area and in 2007, we founded the Lustgarten Walk—Paramus, which raised nearly $45,000. Each year, our walk has grown, and to date we have raised more than $1.5 million for pancreatic cancer research. We are committed to this cause and to the Lustgarten Foundation for seeing us through in our time of need.
